5 Reasons Why SEO is A Must, Not a Want

For some reason business owners assume that SEO is a strategy that you have a choice over. Unless you don’t mind your site not showing up on Google then I guess it is a choice. But who doesn’t want to receive a steady flow of traffic on the “interwebs” for years to come. So for those on the fence about whether or not you should implement an SEO strategy, we have 5 reasons on why SEO is a must not a want.

  1. SEO will increase traffic to your site (in the long run)

Think of it this way. PPC will give you traffic for as long as you are paying for it. SEO on the other hand will give you traffic for years to come. Yes it is a longer process and takes a little more work and patience but, if you stick at it you will see a constant stream of traffic coming to your site from work you did days, months or even years before.

  1. Adds Trust and credibility

When people see you higher up in the ranking more people will trust you. It’s just the way it is. We all do the same thing. Search for something on google, barely going beyond the first page because we assume that the sites higher up have more authority (and they probably do).

Who would you trust, a company selling shoes on the 20th page or a company selling shoes on the 2nd page? We are guessing the latter.

  1. SEO is highly targeted and high converting

Once you have defined the keywords associated with your brand you can then go ahead and generate content based around those keywords. This means that any visitor that comes to your site is there because they actively searched those keywords and your site happened to appear in the search listing. This sort of traffic is highly targeted and is much easier to convert.

  1. SEO done right can be a gold mine

SEO is like gold mining. It takes a lot of work and money if you hire SEO consultants. You might be entering a market that is very crowded so it may take you more pick axes to dig for that gold but, when you dig long and hard it will be worth the effort and time. For example you might only expect to receive 1,000 visits a month but you soon realise you are getting 10,000 hits a month.

  1. Good user experience

Google don’t just throw out updates because they feel like it. They do it so your site provides a better experience for visitors. A good example of this is Google’s mobile first update which means they will now look at the mobile version of the website before considering the desktop version. This will benefit you because a better user experience means more conversions for you!
