How Social Media Actually helps your business.

So social media has been around for quite a while now. Not only is is good (or bad) for Game of Thrones spoilers or football transfer updates but it can actually be a great thing for your business. How, I hear you ask? Below I will mention the top ways in which social media can help your business

Allows you to express your tone of voice

Social media allows you to really set a tone for your business. With every tweet, with every FB post, with every instagram post you are telling your audience who you are. While doing this you will see how people respond and engage with your brand.

Understand your audience

That leads me on to my next point which is that it lets you understand who your audience actually is. Who is it that is liking your tweets, retweeting you,  liking your FB and Instagram posts. Not only that but you will be able to tell who your loyal followers are. Or who we like to call your herd or squad. These people will are the ones that will know, like and trust you. You can even see specifics like age, gender and location. Knowing this is great because it will allow you to tailor your messages with these demographics in mind.

Customer Service

Have you ever complained about something your bought only to wait days for a response? Well with the advent of social media, companies are now providing customer service through social media platforms. I will give you a real life example here. Recently we were having some issues with mailchimp so my collegue reached out to them via twitter and received a response in about an hour.

Find out what competitors are doing

Understanding what your competitors are doing is always a great thing. It gives you the chance to improve on things that you might not have been doing so well. With social media it is now easier than ever to "spy" on your competitors. You can see what their tweeting, what the posting on FB and Instagram and even who are engaging with them.

With all of these things you need to keep the end goal in mind which is to generate a sale. The sale will come, you just need to do everything before it correctly so it's easier to convert the lead into a sale when the time comes. It shouldn't be too difficult because these people already know like and trust you.

How To Solve the “Abandoned Cart Issue” for Good!

Do you often get people to your ecommerce store, get them to add a product to the basket/cart and then never hear from them again. Well you my friend have encountered the not so lovely, "abandoned cart issue". Fortunately for you there are ways you can reduce how often this happens. If you would like to know how, read on...

Progress Indicator

There is nothing worse than experiencing a never ending black hole. So save your customers the boredom and let people know how far along they are into their order. For example you can have Step 1, Step 2 & Step 4. Highlight which step they are on. This gives them a time frame on how long till the order process is over.

Thumbnails

Include thumbnails so people know they are buying the right item as you don't want them to start the whole order again.

Allow Changes

Allow making changes easy for the buyer. They should be able to edit their order easily without having to press the back button.

Security

Reinforce the fact that you have adequate security in place. No one wants to input their payment details on an unsecure site. Make sure they know. A medium sized logo at the bottom of the page works well. you will be surprised at the amount of people that leave the checkout process because they did not display that they have security on their site. Although thay had a good level of security on their site, they did not advertise it on the checkout page which meant most people would assume there is no security!

Thumbnails

Include thumbnails so people know they are buying the right item as you don't want them to start the whole order again.

Implement Additional Payment Options

You need to implement additional payment gateways. This will allow more people to actually pay for the goods. A good rule of thumb is to have at least three payment gateways. Some examples of payment processors are, Paypal, Sagepay and Wordlpay.

Save The Cart

A large majority of customers use their shopping carts to comparison tool.  Giving them the option to save their cart for future use will make it much easier for them to buy from you. These people are just shopping around anyway so they were not going to buy from you right there. This happens in brick and mortar shops too. You go to a shop, pick a few items and ask the shop assistant to keep them for you as you may come back later on to purchase them. It's no different online.

Dedicated Contact Number

Some customers are uncomfortable using their cards online so giving them the option to call you instead is a great way to increase your cart to sale conversion rate.

7 Ways To Sell Your EBook Online

Have you written an e-book? An e-book is a digital document that can be sold online in a purely digital form. Thus, unlike with selling a physical product, the fulfillment of an e-book is done completely online. This is great for you, the author, since you can completely automate the order taking and fulfillment processes.

Once you have the fulfillment process automated, the question becomes how to market the e-book online in order to get people to buy it. “How do I effectively market my e-books online?” is one of the most common questions I hear from my clients. Here are five tips that will help you sell more of your e-books and generate more revenue:

Find a target market to sell the e-book to. Many people think that everyone is their target market, and as a result try to sell their e-book to everyone. They usually end up chasing after potential customers who are not in their target market and are not likely to ever purchase the book. Their e-book sales suffer as a result.

Instead of trying to sell your e-book to everyone, concentrate on a smaller group of people who comprise your target market. These people are much more likely to purchase what you have to offer, and as a result you will get many more sales.

Create an effective sales letter for your e-book. Since you cannot take a picture of your e-book and post it on your web site (unlike a piece of jewelry, for example), your need to use the sales letter to promote the e-book.

Make sure that your sales letter effectively describes your e-book and focuses on the benefits your clients will get by purchasing your e-book. Highlighting the benefits will keep people reading the sales letter, and it will generate more e-book sales.

Give your customers just a few options on your web site. Sometimes clients tell me that their sales letters don’t sell. When I take a look at the sales letters, they are usually a big mess. Sales letters that do not sell contain too many distractions for the reader: they have links to other web pages and web sites, banners, and text ads for other products.

Make sure that your sales letter provides only a few options to your customers – an option to buy the product and an option to subscribe to your newsletter, and that’s it. The fewer options you give to your web site visitors, the more likely they are to buy your product.

Have a newsletter subscription on your web site. Sometimes people who come to your web site and see your e-book are not ready to purchase the e-book. However, they are ready to subscribe to your newsletter and learn more about you and your products. These people will be ready to buy your e-book eventually, so make sure that you keep in touch with them through your newsletter.

Use online marketing techniques to promote your e-book further. Use search engine optimization, business blogging, article publishing and other online marketing techniques to promote your web site and e-book. TYhese methods will bring more visitors to your web site, who are craving the information that you share in your e-book.

You can only make money with your e-book if you sell it. Follow the five tips that we discussed to sell more e-book copies and make more money.
