For several years, shifts to internet marketing have been quickly rising, and the events of 2020 have significantly expedited this tendency. Digital marketing’s impact and effectiveness have made it a vital component of every modern marketing plan. In this blog I’ll be discussing the 3 best digital marketing strategies to impliment for your Restaurant.

Why Digital Restaurant Marketing is Important

Digital restaurant marketing is probably the most important form of marketing stratagies as it allows your restaurant to connect with a large online audience and show off the facilities your business has to offer.

Connecting with clients via the internet is extremely effective because it reaches today’s consumers where they spend the majority of their time: online. Many small businesses like this sort of marketing because it can be extremely cost-effective; even the smallest marketing budget can benefit from a digital strategy.

Online marketing can also be a good way to swiftly increase website traffic, making it a good option for firms seeking for immediate results. Here’s a quick guide to three of the most popular and effective digital restaurant marketing strategies.

1. Social Media

The recent explosion of social media cannot have gone unnoticed by any modern business. While the social aspect may not indicate that users are intending or making purchases, the emergence of’social commerce’ has grown into a multi-billion dollar business.

With almost half of the world’s population spending a significant amount of their day on social media sites like Facebook, it’s likely that your clients are also using these platforms. As a result, implementing a social media marketing plan can be a powerful tool for connecting with these customers.

The visual aspect of social media perfeclty lends itself to that of a restaurant marketing plan as it allows you to show beautiful pictures of your food. Instagram and Pinterest, in particular, may be effective virtual storefronts for your food.

As social feeds become more crowded, being able to pause the scrolling motion with an eye-catching photo of your restaurant’s delectable dishes may be a terrific way to raise awareness and develop the online buzz surrounding your business, both of which can help you attract more guests.

2.PPC for Restaurant Marketing

PPC, or pay-per-click marketing, is a sort of sponsored advertising. You pay search engines to promote your business when people are looking for a certain keyword, such as “restaurant near me” or “vegan cafes in London.”

Because you can personalise your adverts to very particular search phrases, this sort of restaurant marketing can provide a very high return on investment. You don’t have to pay to promote (and be lost) in a sea of broad searches when you can rank first for your unique speciality.

These are the people that are most likely to be your perfect clients, as they are looking for exactly what you have to offer.
PPC is one of the more traditional forms of digital advertising, but it’s still going strong due to its effectiveness. It connects your company with potential clients at the optimal time, when they are actively looking for a specific solution or resource.

3.E-mail Marketing

Building a database of client information has long been a sound business practise, and email marketing is merely the modern-day version of that tried-and-true method. The major goal of this type of digital marketing is to establish and strengthen relationships with new customers, as well as to strengthen and inspire loyalty among existing or past customers.

The benefit of this form of digital marketing plan is that your company retains ownership of the consumer database, which has the potential to grow in value over time.

With inboxes bursting at the seams, the battle for customer email addresses is heating up. To effectively develop their email list, businesses must provide tantalising freebies, discounts, or other goodies in addition to merely asking for their information. However, once these are in place, adding more and more eager clients to your database becomes pretty simple.

While email marketing takes a bit longer to get going, it has the benefit of being one of the better long-term marketing tactics. Because email is unlikely to go away anytime soon, this type of customer relationship is a terrific method to attract existing consumers while also being a useful asset in the future. Email marketing is a terrific complement to other traffic-generating methods like social media and pay-per-click advertising.

We once proclaimed that the ‘Death of Email Marketing’ had been greatly exaggerated and to be honest, we still think we are right. Email marketing is still a great way of communicating with customers and potential customers…and it is also a great way to turn your customers into repeat buyers.

Firstly, it generates more profit than looking for new business and, it’s one of the primary goals of selling – reselling to existing customers.

Then add in FOMO! – or in its proper full vernacular ‘Fear Of Missing Out’. As human beings you would not be human if you didn’t get FOMO on occasion, whether it be staying in for a night in front of the TV instead of heading out with friends only to find out they have the best night ever…major FOMO can occur then or whether it be missing out on a great deal because you have been indecisive. The trick is to get customers to get major FOMO when it comes to any offers or products you may have…the guys at Apple seem to have it down to a tee.

So how do you create a sense of FOMO, so customers will come back and buy from you? Well…

Don’t let fears or reservations creep into your customer’s psyche. It is essential that you make them feel confident and empowered about their decision to purchase your product. A few reinforcements here and there will help immensely.

Educate your customers – this is one of the most important things you can do to keep them buying from you – very few businesses do a good job of educating customers – this can be through newsletters, videos, simple blog or even a podcast like this one…

Hints, tips, and helpful ideas on how a customer can improve their business are always a winner. They will appreciate your concern and interest in their wellbeing – and the fact you are doing it for free also helps. That’s not to say you give all your secrets away for free!

Say “thank you” regularly. Nothing is more important than saying “thank you.” Who doesn’t like being thanked for something? Even if it is a call to say thanks for buying or even a follow-up call 3 months later to see how they are doing with their purchase. As a famous supermarket says ‘Every Little Helps’

Ask your customers for their opinions. The finest form of flattery is “What are your thoughts?” – they will feel valued that you find their opinion significant. You can use something like Survey Monkey for this

Make your customers feel important. Congratulate them on their achievements and comment on positive things about their business. Life in the trenches isn’t always easy – let them know they are doing a great job.

There are literally 100’s of email marketing companies out there that you can choose to use as you email service provider. However, picking one that suits your needs can be a real pain due to the number of options. Lucky for you we have compiled a list of five (in no particular order) that we feel you should seriously consider.

Mailchimp

Probably one of the most user friendly so there is no need to worry about too much technical jargon The other great thing is there basic package is free. Even there email automation is now free. This means you can have emails that automatically go out to your subscribers without having to manually send them out, all for free.

Dot Mailer

This one is great as it can seamlessly integrate with your CRM software. It is a bit pricier than most other providers but what you can do with it is amazing.

Aweber

Just like Dot Mailer aweber can also integrate very well with 3rd party applications. With plans starting at $19 per month they are not the priciest option either so that is another plus.

Getresponse

Getresponse is quite similar to aweber with matching price plans and email marketing options. You will often find reviewers comparing the two side by side. However an added benefit of using get response is their native landing page builder.

Email marketing is still one of the best ways to get your message across to your potential customers. However, this is only the case if you can get your emails opened. Getting your prospects to open your email can seem like a daunting task but it really shouldn’t be. It’s actually not as hard as most people believe. The formula is quite simple and we are going to give it to you right here in this blog post. Here we go.

1.Get Your Subject Line Right

This is the main component that will affect your open rates. If you don’t have a compelling subject line your subscribers will not bother opening your emails. You need to spark curiosity in the minds of your prospects. “How do I Spark curiosity?”, I here you ask. It’s easy, ask a question. If you ask a compelling enough question, your subscribers will assume you have the answer in your email and as a result will open your email. For example if you have have a pet store your subject line could be something like “Hey Jason, Does your Cat do this?”. If you use something like this your prospect will wonder what it is that you are referring to and will want to open to find out.

2.You Don’t have Time so Get to The Point

We all value our time so it should come as no surprise that your subscribers do to. heir time is precious so you only have seconds to make an impact. Make your subject line punchy and to the point. Long subject lines that don’t make the subscriber want to open your email will make them scroll right past your email. Make the topic of your email copy known in the subject line of your email.

3.Use Their Name

If you know your prospects name make sure you use it. This will dramatically increase your open rates. In the subject line used earlier we used the prospects name. For example which sounds more appealing, “Hey Jason, Does Your Cat Do This?” or “Does your Cat Do This?” ? We are guessing the former. Using someone’s first name makes it sound like this email was written specifically for them alone. Just saying their name alone without saying anything after it might even make them open the email. It’s a very powerful tool which is very easy to implement.

4.Consider The Contents of Your Last Email

Not many people talk about this but what you said in your last email will most likely affect the open rate of your next email. For example if you did not engage well enough in your previous email, people won’t have much of a convincing reason to open any email that follows. For instance if you know someone is a constant spammer and all they send you is spam, will you open their next email? I’m not saying you are sending spam (I hope you’re not) but I’m sure you get the message.

5.Be Fun

Whatever you do don’t be boring. Make your message fun and personable. There is nothing worse than going through your inbox and reading a subject line that screams boring. It can really dampen one’s mood. Don’t be that guy or gal! You will be branded as boring and people will never open your emails. Instead try to engage with your prospects. You can do this by finding out what it is that they really want and present it to them via email.

If you follow these tips religiously you will see overtime that your email open rates have increased dramatically.

Writing an email can seem a basic task, but the receiver will appreciate the quality of a professionally written one vs an informal message. You are also likely to have a positive response from the recipient and paint a good picture of who you are. Continue to read to find out ways you can write effective electronic mail!

1. Format your response so that it’s easy to read on a screen.

Do not write emails using very long sentences, which are lengthy horizontally. Each line must be short. Ideally, write 5-6 words in each line only and not more than that.

2. Make sure the subject line is concise and meaningful to the recipient

Avoid a generic “Response from Marketing Team” but also be careful that it doesn’t look like spam.

3. Have one subject per paragraph.

Mention this separately by blank lines, so that it’s easy to read and understand.

4. Be brief.

Use as few words as possible to convey your message. More is not better when it comes to email. An email is not perceived as an electronic letter.

5. Use simple, declarative sentences.

Write for a third or fourth-grade audience, particularly if you’re creating templates that are sent automatically. You do not know the education level of your sender or the sender’s level of comfort with the English language.

6. Be sensitive to the tone of the original email.

If the sender is upset because of an error on your part, acknowledge the error. Clearly state what you are doing to correct the situation.

7. Make sure you answer all the questions posed in the original inquiry.

A partial answer frustrates the sender and results in additional contacts. It also makes the company sending the response look inept.

8. Call of action

Make it clear what actions you will be taking next and when the writer can expect the next contact from you.

9. Don’t ask for an order number/case number or any old information

This is something you remember out of your mind only when one is included in the original email…sounds pretty basic, but sometimes people miss very obvious info in an email.

10. Don’t just tell the sender to go to your website.

In many cases, they have already been to the website and couldn’t find the answers they were looking for. If you want them to go

back to the website, provide a direct link to the exact information the reader needs.

Many small businesses don’t get the success they want from advertising due to availability of very little resources. The results are simply flat due to lack of good ideas for improvements. Whether the ads are put in the local newspaper or are printed in the famous periodical or posted on a website, the money invested should gain the desired outcome. There are some common mistakes small businesses and professional service providers do when designing and posting the advertisement, which leads to the failure of the advertisement.

Bigger is better is believed by many.

That’s exactly what some of the small firms think when they want to advertise their product. They think bigger and select a medium where they need to invest a lot of money, but do not reach the targeted market. Like if a company specializes in designing diet plans and want to help out people who had disappointing results from their individual diet plans, and the company chooses to advertise a full page in the local paper instead of running advertisement in a health magazine, obviously not many of the dieters will notice the advertisement and the advertisement doesn’t get the desired attention.

So the point is to come up with the best campaign, which will increase the probability of the ad getting viewed and the right customers trying to buy the product or sign up for the service. Studies and research can be carried out on the market and targeted audience can be narrowed down. Once getting the list of newspapers, magazines and magazines meant for the customers in mind, find out how many readers they have and the cost they ask for posting the ad. Special deals are offered by them from time to time and can only be found by watchful eye.

It is estimated that everyday people are subjected to around three thousand commercials.

That is a huge number and if someone desires to be noticed, he should certainly be different. Not only the services and product sold should be unique in the market, so should be the advertisement. For example, if a business selling mattresses says, “We sell mattresses”, it will not make a statement and will be passed off as any other mattress advertisement. But if they say, “Our mattresses are of the finest quality”, it will make the advertisement stand out in the crowd. Other catch lines are “Are you suffering from back pain? Probably you must try our mattresses “, are more specific and will catch the fancy of the people who are suffering from back pains since a long time. The advertisement should also focus on the uniqueness of the product and how it is better compared to the competitors’ product.

Focusing on the problems of the customers and giving a solution for them, is what a customer demands.

A customer does not buy a product; he buys benefits in the form of a product. The real value of the product should be realised and a clear picture of it should be presented to the customer so he will be able to relate with the product. If the advertisement doesn’t specify the solution it can provide, the customers will never know of it. So focusing on the customers problem is what some ads miss.

Most of the advertisement is motivation for the customers.

If the advertiser has designed the advertisement and the customer had read the advertisement, all efforts and money invested will be wasted if he doesn’t get up and do something about it. It shouldn’t be assumed that the customer knows what to do; instead the advertisement should influence the mind of the customer and should tell him what to do. Call of action is the final job of the advertisement. It should call for information, or visiting the store or even visiting the online store. The message should sound confident and clear.
