Six Sinister Social Media mistakes You’re Making

Do you think that you are making social media mistakes within your business? Have a look at six of the most sinister social media mistakes made by businesses on a daily basis below!

Pfft..Who really needs a marketing strategy?!

It is important to have a marketing strategy with SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound) goals. You cannot do well if you do not know what you are doing or what ‘well’ would be.

A clear social media strategy will ensure that your business is on its way to having great and engaging social media content.

ALL OF THE ACCOUNTS MUST BE MADE IMMEDIATELY

Do not make an account unless you think that you are going to be able to use it regularly and post quality content. If potential clients come across unused or abandoned sites this could reflect badly on your business.

Do your research, work out what networks are best for your business and then what ones realistically you will be able to run to a good standard? There are so many options when it comes to social media marketing in regards to what networks you use.

It is important to work out which will be most effective in your specific marketing campaign.

Money=Followers

Yes when you make a new account and you have a small following, if any, it can be very tempting to buy just a few followers to bump up your number a little.

Bigger numbers may look impressive but they will not help you in the long run. This is one of the key social media mistakes that new businesses often make!

The key is to build up a genuine following and build a relationship so that you are able to engage with customers and potential customers through this network.

#We #All #Love #Hashtags

They can be overused at times so be careful. I am not saying don’t use them at all because they can help a business become more visible… however, you need to learn your limit.

Adding 2 or three tags can be good just keep them relevant. Having too many tags can be rather intrusive and detract from the main post.

Three is no need to proof read

Mistakes do not look good. Your social media accounts will be a representation of your brand so take care of it! It’s as simple as that. If punctuation is missed or words are spelt incorrectly your message could come across in a completely different way or it can just represent your company in a bad way.

Ignore people

Social media is called that for a reason! Many businesses will write some posts and schedule them then leave them alone. This is not the way to use social media it’s best practice to interact with your customers, like/favourite comments or reply to posts.

You do not have to interact with everyone on every post but just enough so that people see the accounts are run by real people and you can build up a trusting relationship with your customers.
